Minas Avetisyan is one of the most prominent artists of the second half of the XX century.He was born in Jajur village located in Shirak region of Armenia, studied visual arts in Yerevan then in St.Petersburg. M.Avetisyan created his art works in different genres (more than 500 works).However, he is most famous for his landscapes, portraying Armenian rural life, as well as still life art works and frescos. Among his prominent art works are “Jajur” (1960), “Still life with watermelon” (1960), “Landscape with khachkars” (1974), etc. Currently, Avetisyan’s art works are presented in the National Gallery of Armenia, house-museum of Minas Avetisyan in Jajur, as well as in various museums of the world.
