Ivan Aivazovsky is one of the greatest Armenian artists of the XIX century. He was born in the city of Feodosia, located in Crimea, studied in St.Petersburg and participated in trainings in Western Europe. Aivazovsky is known to the world, for his seascapes, he created around 6,000 canvases.Among his most prominent art works are “Chaos” (1841), “Descent of Noah from Ararat”.(1889),”Ninth wave” (1850), “On the Storm” (1872), etc. Currently, the art works of Aivazovsky are kept in the museums of different countries, such as National Gallery of Armenia, the State Russian Museum in St.Petersburg, Vatican Armenian monastery of San Lazzaro in Venice, etc.
